Class feedback:
My reaction to this feedback:
"Should allow opening the article by clicking on the image thumbnail" - this is a function my site does have but due to being limited with coding this is a limited function only represented twice throughout my two user journeys in my prototypes. With the Middle East articles someone would like the articles to be listed beside the map, this would be the transitions from the map to the grid layout and ideally they would be able to click Middle East and go into the section and then have the articles titled and clear.
They said it takes a few times to get used to, I think this is because the map is not 100% interactive and you don't have full capabilities to use the map through limited functionality.
Someone also said "Clicking middle-east takes me to National News" this only on the desktop version and you cannot click on the mobile version articles as it is too small and they are in-fact on there for visualisation of the articles which are in this section. - The larger the articles the latest they are.
"Need an opinion button in the menu - I got confused that I had to go into Wellington first" - This is a deliberate function, you can only contribute articles to specific locations not through larger areas. But this is something I could think about adding before Friday.
Someone is unclear how they go from Wellington to reading an article once zoomed in. I'm personally not sure how this is unclear. You select the title and it takes you into the articles and there is even an arrow prompt.
To do from this feedback:
Make Barry Richards user journey optional to go into the section of Middle East then further into the article through this, an alternative to clicking on the article title.Add a contribute option in the dropdown menu or on the map for the user to do with ease.
